1a(n.) Decoration; edge of a garment; hem or border. The term is used often in glosses on the Gospels or in hagiography to describe the edge of a garment, the contact with which produces miracles. The single attestation suggested by the Middle English Dictionary is a late version of Ælfric's glosses. This term is used in a manner very similar to 'feaze.'(ante 1100)
