Though rare, metal necklets with crescent-shaped fronts have been found in early Anglo-Saxon graves, with typically female grave-goods at Emscote, Warwickshire, and in what may have been a boy's grave at Wakerley, Northamptonshire. Owen-Crocker, G. R. (2004) pp. 89. 127.
