    Etymological Evidence:

Speculative, A native Irish word < *ruk-tu (cf. Welsh rhuwch), from a root cognate with that seen in English rokke (q.v.) and French rocket (see rocket 1) 'outer garment'. Far less likely to be a specialised sense of the homonymous rucht 'pig' or rucht 'commotion, sudden movement'.
